Noisy Heater |
| Possible Cause | Solution |
| Check heat exchanger system for scale deposits. Ultimately this can cause the heat exchanger fins to discolor and buckle. | Descale entire unit using Descaler Pt. No.PMG 50/40008 or replace unit - Pt. No. PMG 10/14689. |
| Unit is overheating and causing the water to be turned to steam. | Check that the E.C.O. Pt. No. PMG 10/19055 is properly installed and working. It is designed to turn off the unit on an over-heat condition. |
| Noisy ignition could be caused by incorrect setting of the slow ignition screw. | The slow ignition screw is positioned above the sensing tubes in the water diaphragm housing. Turning the screw clockwise delays the ignition, counter-clockwise advances the ignition. never turn the screw fully clockwise. When correct the burner ignition should be smooth and quiet when a hot water faucet is open. |
| Burner Aeration ports and main flame ports blocked. | Carefully clean the burners with a vacuum cleaner. |
| Unit has knocking sound coming from it. | Check behind the cover to make sure that there are no animals or other criters in the burner/heat exchanger area. |
