Q - Does the Orbis
Calorama/Comfort View heater require a blower?
A - No! The unit is built in such a fashion that during
operation, the heat is pushed out of the top of the front cover by
venturi action. That is, the heat exchanger area, behind the front
cover, compresses the super heated air forcing the rising stream of
this air to jettison from the top through controlled openings. This
heated air is sent to the opposite wall of the room. As it cools, it
settles to the floor and is drawn back into the bottom of the front
cover, completing the heating cycle.
Q - Does the Orbis Calorama/Comfort View heater require
electricity to operate?
A - No! The unit has a thermocouple and gas pilot system that
provides a milli-volt of electricity to operate the gas valve. The
gas valve is temperature regulated using a dry bulb thermostat to
measure room temperature. This thermostat is attached to the bottom
of the unit and is located in the cool air stream being drawn into
the heat exchanger area. By being in this position, room air is
always being mechanically monitored 24 hours a day.
Q - Can the Orbis Calorama/Comfort View heater be converted to
another gas in the field?
A - No! The unit is not designed to be converted in the
field. It requires a specially trained gas service technician, who
has been authorized by the factory to convert the unit between
gases.
Q - Can the Orbis Calorama/Comfort View heater be ordered in a
different color?
A - No! The unit only comes with a Sandalwood Brown cover as
painted in the factory.
Q - Can the Orbis Calorama/Comfort View heater be shipped via
United Parcel Service?
A - Yes! All three of the units, including the vent kit, are
UPS shippable.
